EPA’s Stormwater Management Model (SWMM) is used throughout the world for planning, analysis and design related to stormwater runoff, combined and sanitary sewers, and other drainage systems in urban areas. There are many applications for drainage systems in non-urban areas as well.

    SWMM is an incredibly detailed watershed modeling program that allows you to model simple to highly complex storm sewer systems. Because of its complexity though, SWMM is difficult for new users to learn at initially, but there is an excessive amount of documentation online to help users along.
